Want to set-up wireless password
I set-up my wireless (with Ubuntu 12.04) to open without a password, and now wish to change that to pasword protected. When I attempt such it shows to go to the wireless and simply check the proper box, BUT I never get the opportunity that way.
Suggestions? Thanks |
Not sure that I fully understand this, but I'll give it a go.
Whether the wireless is encrypted, WPA, WEP, WEP2 is a setting inside your router. You need to communicate with your router to change this. Different routers might use different addresses to communicate with them. ONE of my routers uses: http://192.168.1.1 . I type this in a browser and up comes the router. The router then asks for a username and password for more access. If you Google the MAKE and MODEL of your router you should be able to find the address to communicate with it. You need to make the change in the router. |
Thanks, I'll get in there and try that.
