vncserver in Ubuntu 7.04 show only black background and a cursor, nothing more!

I know that there is a default remote desktop server (vino) in Ubuntu 7.04. However, that allows us only to share the current X desktop on a remote computer. However, I want to create another X desktop environment to use on a remote computer and so, I installed a normal vncserver.

I installed the vncserver, created a passwd, and then started the server. When I use a vncviewer to view the X desktop, I saw only a dump terminal. So I changed the line,
twm &
exec gnome-terminal
and restart the server. This time, it get even worse! Only a black background and a cursor was shown!

Did anyone have the same problem before and can you solve the problem? Thanks!
