VNC - problem w/Edgy?

I followed the following thread (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=259448) because I am running KDE on Edgy. All seems to have gone well except when trying to connect remotely I get the following error message:

"vnc no password configured for vnc auth"

Can anyone give me a hand with figuring this out?

Thanks.

TW,

[EDIT]

Now I'm unable to get a login screen from a remote... this is from the trying to login from the same machine as the vncserver isrunning on.

$ xvncviewer localhost:1

you need to set up a vnc password. Run
Code:
vncpasswd

Thanks,

A quick question, if I am logged into the box locally then why doesn't VNC log directly into that session instead of creating a new session on :1 shouldn't it be logging into session :0?

[Edit]

Scratch that, I removed vnc4server and installed x11vnc and it worked great, a lot less hassle...

#sudo apt-get install x11vnc
#sudo kate /etc/kde3/kdm/Xsetup (added /usr/bin/x11vnc -forever -rfbport 5900 -bg -o /var/log/x11vnc.log -rfbauth /home/myuser/.vnc/passwd)
$vncpasswd

Then I logged in from my vncviewer using 192.168.1.100:0, piece of cake...
