vmware botched install
I used Adept Package Manager in Kubuntu to install vmware and it got to the point were I had to click <OK> on an EUSA and there was nothing that I could figure out that would activate the <OK> button. I had to kill Adept and now whenever I try and run Adept I get the message:
Quote:
You will not be able to change your system settings in any way (install, remove or upgrade software), because another process is using the packaging system database (probably some other Adept application or apt-get or aptitude). Please close the other application before using this one.

Has anyone else had an issue with this (accepting an EULA during an Adept install)? This has happened numerous times to me (yes Simon, I did it again...).

Usually you can hit "tab" then "enter" to accept the EULA in Adept or Synaptic.

The apt lock is probably still there. Check for apt, adept or aptitude lock files in /var and remove them manually.

I know, that's what I thought. I tried every combination of key strokes that I could think of, nothing working. If this was a one off thing then I would just assume that it was an anomily; however, it has happened to me three different times.
I removed that lock that was in /etc/apt but when I tried to use Adept, it came back. I have it fixed now, I used apt-get with the --force-yes option and removed the package. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Thanks,
Todd
