VLC installation error in apt-get


i am having problems with my packages and vlc player and problem with mpeg-1 layer

Check if you are currently running another software management tool, e.g. Synaptic or aptitude. Only one tool is allowed to make changes at a time.

The package indexes are currently changed by jockey-backend
.

Please don't double post
Make sure you only have one package manager open at a time.
If no package manager is open then check the processes in case one is still running in the background
Code:
ps -e
If there are any running then kill the process
