virtual box


hello,
installed virtual box, created a virtual machine..
now my vm start up anymore... maybe has someting to do with usb?
do have my xml..
any ideas howto solve this problem?

Linux Version?
What services are running? - is VirtualBOX started?

Virtualbox version: 1.40 on ubuntu feisty

problem:

Could not load the settings file '/home/elfriede/.VirtualBox/Machines/alf/alf.xml' (VERR_OPEN_FAILED).
FATAL ERROR: Expected an element name

Please provide the output of ps ax both before and after this error on a fresh restart?

With opening a console and typing:
Code:
ps ax
followed by enter.
2. Then selecting the output with a mouse.
3. Opening a reply to this thread and finnaly
4. pasting the selected text in the reply message
