very slow samba server with windows programs like access

Hello all,

Last december I installed ubuntu 7.04 on a new machine. I also installed the Samba server standalone like they explained on howtoforge.

Every thing looked oke but,
When I go with my explorer xp client computer to the shared directory everything reacts normally. I can get a transfere speed of 100mbs, fine enough for me. But after I open an access program or Davilex programm and opens a file in the same directoy it is super slow (180 Kbs) max
When I open the shared directory with the explorer in the same time when he is trying to open the access databaseit it is suddenly very fast again.
The same trick works also on an another computer in the network.

A really don't have a clue to solve this.

Hopefully someone can help me
