I need to use a http proxy from the terminal in Ubuntu. Is the syntax 'export http_cache="proxyserverurl"' not correct? It isn't working for me. I've also went and set the Network Proxy in the GUI menu. Am I doing something wrong here?
I don't have a user/pass or have to input a port. I was doing something really retarded before that has nothing to do with the export line. Thanks for the additional info anyway. I was actually using sudo while logged in as root therefore my export line wasn't actually tied to my physical user.
