Upgrading from Kubuntu 6.10 Beta to final release version

Hi everyone
I have a question about upgrading Kubuntu 6.10. I have Kubuntu installed on a HP laptop and it appears to be working fine at the moment. I am wondering if it is a good idea to upgrade my existing installation when the final release comes out using my existing installation or whether a fresh, clean install is preferable? I am aware that a Debian based installation can be upgraded but would like to know if there will be issues further down the road in doing this? I also use Suse 10.2 and it seems to be widely agreed that a clean install of an RPM based distro is always preferable to an upgrade.

Any thoughts on this? I would like to avoid installing afresh if I can avoid it since my existing beta installation seems to be running fine without any issues.
Thanks

Upgrading an APT-based distribution normally should happen without any errors. This is not RPM, and this is not SUSE...

Like robbbert said, you just need to keep upgrading and you'll end up with the final release. If you want to check which version you have, type lsb_release -a
