Updating Ubuntu from Breezy to Dapper

I originally installed Breezy Badger (5.10) and today ran the command
Code:

apt-get dist-upgrade
Im presuming this would upgrade my installation to Dapper Drake, however in the synaptic package manager its still displaying the Breezy Badger repositories. Do I have to change these manually or am I totally wrong about my version being updated to Dapper :S

Thanks

You need to change the sources in /etc/apt/sources.lst from breezy to dapper.

Upgrading Breezy to Dapper via apt-get can be problematic. If you just installed Breezy then why not just burn a Dapper cd and install it. I had all sorts of problems considering the upgrade from Breezy to Dapper. There were iisues with the X server that had to be configured, applications launched slower, and many other problems. Upgrading can also place holes in your OS so the best option is probably to just install Dapper fresh.

Would I have to reformat and then reinstall ubuntu using the dapper CD? or can I perform an upgrade install using the dapper disk? I dont wanna lose my current set up.
