Updating Ubuntu 9.04 server fom behind a ISA firewall

I have a Ubuntu 9.04 Server VM running in VMWare Server 2 on a Windows network at my place of work. I've tried updating it using adept from the command line but I get access denied messages from the ISA firewall (I think because it is not in the AD authorised users group). I'd just download the packages individually but it doesn't seem to come with ftp installed so I can't ftp anything across (including NTLMap). Does anyone have any ideas?
