Update Manager Fails in Ubuntu 12.0.4

I'm running Ubuntu 12.0.4 and when I try to run the update manager, it downloads a few things (out of hundreds) and then fails, telling me to check my internet connection (which is fine).

What's going on?

What does your /etc/apt/apt.conf look like?
You may want to simply change mirrors- that can sometimes resolve odd download issues.

If you try to update from the terminal you'll get more detailed output, which you can copy & paste here for us to take a look:

Did you add third party repositories? May be the repositories don't exist or have been moved.
