Question Unistall programs


how do I unistall programs I installed without synaptic?

Code:
apt-get --purge remove appname
Does the trick very nicely

thanks. but you forgot the sudo in front of the command line.

But you already know that you must be root to add or remove applicatons, so I didn't feel the need to type it in. Plus, sudo isn't a part of the apt-get command.

I was giving you the command - a little bit of research after that helps drone it in

prob:
i want to uninstall for eg..noatun.. but in the synaptic it shows that kde will also be removed
similar is the case with many other files

can somebody plz help me out
