Ubuntu Won't recognize my Eth0 help!


ubuntu will not see my ethernet card built into my board, worked fine with fedora, can't figure this one out. also how can i make sure my kernel is correct? everytime i try to install my video drivers for nvidia is gives me the kernel error message

Brand and model of nic.

For nvidia
Post the exact errors you get.

my NIC card is as follows, "Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller". It's built into one of the new msi motherboards for the amd dual core platform. it worked fine with fedora, but won't even light up or see it whatsoever in ubuntu.

also i'm using hoary hedgehog if that makes a difference

well i upgraded to breezy badger and now everything works fine. not sure what the problem was with hoary hedgehog. problem solved
