Ubuntu vm image

I have been using Fedora on my Windows and thinking about trying to move to Ubuntu since it seems like it is very popular. Can someone recommend a place that I can download a pre-build vmware image?

You should be able to use the Live CD ISO.

If you have VMWare player on your Windows PC you can install and build your own Ubuntu VM. There is really nothing to it. Download the Ubuntu live CD image for the version you wish to use, point VMWare player to it under File; Create new virtual machine. After a couple of questions it is on auto pilot. There is no need to burn the Live CD to physical media and you do not need VMWare Workstation - the free Player will do the trick. (I did not know that and have a couple of licen$es for Workstation which seem to be perpetually out of date).

p.s. VMWare will not support the unity desktop/interface - no great loss according to many folks
