Ubuntu Ultimate 3.2

It was out.
Anyone had tried it?
Anything special compared to original ubuntu?

acid_kewpie 03-20-2012 05:43 AM

Yay! Another pointless irrelevant fork of Ubuntu, just what the world needs. Ughhhh.

Linuxplayer2300 03-20-2012 11:20 AM

many people support.

Linuxplayer2300 03-24-2012 01:25 AM

just installed it on Dell Inspiron, works well.
got more pre-installed packages.

acid_kewpie 03-24-2012 01:05 PM

it has more preinstalled junk? that's a good thing??

however many people support it, more support ubuntu, more support debian, more support Fedora...

Linuxplayer2300 03-25-2012 04:34 AM

more support windows, Mac OSX :D

Linuxplayer2300 03-25-2012 08:30 AM

Kubuntu also works well, the theme is more brighter.

tiloubrunet 03-25-2012 08:40 AM

i think netrunner is the best kde os because the theme is beautifull, simple and class.
Its real that pre installed stuff us point less because we can download them in synaptic --"

Linuxplayer2300 03-25-2012 10:23 AM

i never used netrunner

tiloubrunet 03-25-2012 12:03 PM

its a good fully operational and stable linux distro ;)
check it out :)

tommcd 03-25-2012 01:00 PM

If you are already using Ubuntu you can easily install whatever extra packages that Ubuntu Ultimate includes and you will have your "ultimate" distro.

tiloubrunet 03-25-2012 02:53 PM

these distributions are just useless like linux mint that was a ubuntu disguised.

widget 03-25-2012 04:51 PM

Yes, a respun respin is an interesting concept.

But UE is more than that. It is a cult. So that makes it sensible.

I guess.

k3lt01 03-25-2012 05:11 PM

Is the OP a reincarnated TigerLinux? His/her posting style is very similar ;)

Linuxplayer2300 03-26-2012 01:14 AM

So many Distos using KDE, which one is the most recommended?

I was wondering the same thing.

If mint is ubuntu disguised, ubuntu is debian disguised.

tiloubrunet 03-27-2012 04:43 PM

kubuntu, linux mint kde and netrunner are my favorite.
check out mageia too!

If you don't mind a LOT of "added extras" (bloat), I would say try PCLOS Full Monty.

It is KDE fully configured and is pretty impressive.

I think it is as close to being implimented as the KDE devs invision the DE as you are going to get.

That said it is also huge with 4 file managers and 3 web browsers. A clean install on 2 partitions gave me a / partition with more than 12 gigs in it.

Comes on a Live DVD.

I am not a fan of KDE. Don't like it in fact. Like to have on on the box to show folks because some folks really like it.

Anyone that does like KDE owes it to themselves to get the ISO, burn it and give it a look. Might give you some ideas on how you would like to configure things.

Linuxplayer2300 03-27-2012 08:34 PM

I tried PCLOS before, it does not have ibus to input chinese.

We know, you have told us before

Linuxplayer2300 03-28-2012 07:45 AM

I like the past Opensuse DVD, it asks you to add languages at the beginning of installation.

tiloubrunet 03-28-2012 05:20 PM

opensuse is a good os but it was not a open source distro=(
and it use rpm so its not as easy as debian :s

Linuxplayer2300 03-28-2012 07:56 PM

rpm is more difficult to install, but in opensuse, right-click it and install.

acid_kewpie 03-29-2012 02:28 AM

rpm are NOT more difficult to install, that's nonsense. tools like yum or aptitude make rpms and debs equally trivial.

Linuxplayer2300 03-29-2012 05:17 AM

I try netrunner, seems very good.

tiloubrunet 03-29-2012 06:08 PM

me i think its good too!
i finded a good distro named mageia.
check it out it is very interesting too!

Linuxplayer2300 03-29-2012 10:02 PM

mageia is based on Mandriva.

k3lt01 03-29-2012 10:47 PM

What does half of what you are posting in this thread have to do with Ubuntu Ultimate 3.2?

Linuxplayer2300 03-30-2012 01:11 AM

we are talking about whatever related to "alternatives" we have for linux distro.

Laugh Out Loud (we are not supposed to use txt spk in technical threads anymore).

Linuxplayer2300 03-30-2012 07:30 AM

why bother?

tiloubrunet 03-30-2012 05:55 PM

He's unhappy because he knows he's been sprung (caught out). If I'm correct (and I'm sure I am, see screenshots) Linuxplayer2300 is someone else, he has tried every distro available and keeps posting threads like this. He has been banned (forever) already and created a new profile before he was banned to get around it. Jeremy and the LQ mods are more patient than I am cause I'm sure they know who he is.

tiloubrunet 03-30-2012 07:03 PM

he has the same skype....
so he just want to make pass our time :l?
what a lost of time :s

tiloubrunet 03-30-2012 07:39 PM

so why did we answer her question :( ?
did an admin can lock this topic(my gmail is full of notifications)
i don't like when people like this just want to make me waste my time and energy....

k3lt01 03-30-2012 08:58 PM

You can report him and ask for the thread to be closed. I have already asked them if it is the same person befire I figured it out for myself so they do know.

tiloubrunet 03-30-2012 09:10 PM

i am pretty new and i don't know a lot about how all the forum work :s!
if someone can help me it will be cool.....

k3lt01 03-30-2012 09:42 PM

At the bottom right of each post there are 2 buttons, report and quote. Underneath that there is a link Did you find this post helpful.

If you think there is a problem click the report button and fill in the next page. If you want to quote someone click the quote button and it will open a new post for you. If you find something the person said was helpful click the helpful link or go over to the left hand side and click on the scales which add to the persons reputation. You can also see, sometimes what distribution they are using on the bottom left as well and if they are online by the middle penguin.

tiloubrunet 03-30-2012 09:45 PM

oh i see!
thanks ;)

The ridgepole sags to the breaking point.
It furthers one to have somewhere to go.
Success.
