I am trying to install Ubuntu as a Virtual PC on my XP machine but it won't even load the live cd to get me to be able to. When I choose the start or install Ubuntu 7.10 option I get this error.
[25377.812003] isapnp: checksum for device 1 is not valid (0x89)
[25377.818159] isapnp: checksum for device 2 is not valid (0xbe)
Can anyone tell me what this means and maybe a way to get around it? Thanks

This sounds like it's most likely to be a problem with the way Virtual PC is set up within Windows.
Does the live CD work on a normal boot (i.e. not a virtual machine)?
Try checking the installation of Virtual PC, or try another virtual machine app., the one I use, which seems quite good, is Virtual Box (from VirtualBox.org).
