hello all! I have justy installed Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 on a Toshiba Satellite 1805-S207 laptop and it always hangs when I try to reboot! I have to shut it down completely and then start it up again. A minor annoyance, but one I would like to resolve. I have installed this same distro on a Dell Inspiron 7500 and a HP Pavillion (old one) and neither had this problem. As always, any and all help is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
It goes through the normal process of shutting down, and then it starts back up; I can hear the fan whirring but the screen remains blank. I have to hold the power button to shut it off then hit it again to start normally. Any file I can edit?
I removed both "quiet" and "splash" from that kernel line in /boot/grub/,menu.lst to no avail. Computer shuts down and says "will now restart" but then goes blank. I know I did it right because when I power off completey and then power on it shows all the stuff that it's working on whereas it didn't before.
