Man, I need to get 3DDesktop working to show my friends, but with the repos down I can't get build-essential to compile it. Maybe it's on my server-install CD.
Wow! I was starting to get worried. I thought I had messed something up and would have to reinstall the whole system. Yeah, everything's down for me too, here in Florida. I hope they get it all sorted out soon.
Is there a site on the WWW that keeps up with major disruptions, new developments, etc. in Web traffic, where a person could find out about breakdowns like these? If there isn't, I sure wish somebody (who could afford it!) would start one.
I was going to help a friend with a brand-new Ubuntu installation yesterday; he wants to get away from Windows and into friendlier territory. But as happened to another user above, looks like we picked the wrong day.
