Ubuntu 9.04 battery indicator ibm t20

I have been using ubuntu 8.10 for a couple of months on an IBM T20 laptop and have been happy with it. The battery indicator has always correctly shown when it was on AC or Battery, and remaining battery life. This afternoon I downloaded 9.04 and did a clean install of it. When I unplugged the AC no battery indicator showed up. I found a place to click to always show power status and clicked it. It now shows AC power, even when ac is unplugged. Any Suggestions??

root@t20:~# lsmod | grep ibm
root@t20:~# modprobe ibm_acpi

I guess not - there is an update available for acpid -- will load that and see what happens.

-- update did not change anything --

Rebooted and noticed (again) message bios fails cutoff date, use acpi=force. when I did that, battery indicator worked. Forgot that I did that with 8.04
Thanks all
