ubuntu 7.04 installation problem

I am having issues when installing ubuntu 7.04 from a PC that was previously running XP.

The Ubuntu 7.04 is able to load from the Ubuntu LiveCD, to the Ubuntu virtual environment however, when I double-click on the icon to "install" from the desktop, the computer just runs and runs and runs like its processing something. I never get to the installation splash screens. I have tried this three times now.

Anyone have any idea what my problem could be? Is there anyway to install ubuntu directly from reboot without having to boot into the virtual environment first?

I had the exact same problem with 7.04
the fix for me was I downloaded a new ISO and reburned it
everything was fine after that
not sure if that's your issue but that's what worked for me
