Ubuntu 6.06 custom partitioning
I am using the LiveCD to install Ubuntu 6.06. During the install, I chose to manually partition the drive. It then showed gparted, but it appeared to be crippled, because I was unable to select what mount points would be used. What is going on?

I'm not sure you are suppose to use Gparted for setting up the mount point. Are you sure? I don't see the option myself on my copy of Gparted.

The choice of mount point happens after GParted. You get something that looks like this.

If you're still having trouble with the live cd install partitioner, download and use the alternate install cd. I believe it uses disk druid (same as the text-based breezy installer) and will save you time and frustration.

It was until I clicked on that link that I realized how difficult it might be for a plain user to just located an ISO (lots of users have problem finding "download" button), download it, md5 sum it, burn it, and go through the installation...

Me, I have no problem, I use md5 all the time, and it's been 3 years since I started using linux... :)
