Unhappy Ubuntu 5.10 Breezy: Not Reboot !!!!

Hi guys,

I just have installed Breezy, but in the almost last step of installation where the installer says to move the CD from the drive before it reboots the system, I found that, the system did not restart After I removed the CD and click "continue", the screen just went off and the system hung on that stage, did not reboot.

Forgot to refer to my system, it is Toshiba A10 Laptop. I had to push the power switch until the system turned off, then I had to turned it on again.

Also, when I went into Ubunto and I wanted to restart it, it was just like the same, the screen says "rebooting", after that it went off and nothing happened, no reboot

Anyone found this problem before, I found that many people using laptop face this problem ...

Is this a bug, my goodnesssssss, there shouldn't be a bug like this ...

I mean, the Breezy is pretty new

Can anyone pleaseeeeeeeeee suggest me how to cope with it

Thanks in advance,

Alez

Alez,

I came across you posting refering to problems with getting the reboot to work clanly with your install of Ubuntu (Breezy Badger), and it appears that no one has proposed any solutions for you in the months that have passed since your posting.

With that in mind I am curious if you have stumbled across a solution since then, or have you just had to get used to your system not restarting properly?

Thanks,

Ken

Hi Kvedaa,

Thanks a lot for visiting my post

I apologize that I totally forgot to report further to this thread. The problem has been solved perfectly by upgrading to a new kernel.

For now, I am wondering about installing the new Ubuntu ...
Also, would like to try Ubuntu for Mac ... should be fun !!

Have a nice day,

Alez

I came across the following wiki page which has a refrence to reboot hanging with the Brezy Badger version of Ubuntu, it might be worth checking out:

http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubu...allation_Guide

But I suspect that you may be better served by trying the new release.

Good Luck,
