Ubuntu 2.6.32-32-generic #62 SMP 2011 x86_64 does not see my iPhone 3GS docked by USB

Hello, I am running Ubuntu Linux 2.6.32-32-generic #62 SMP 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux and it used to see my IPhone 3GS version 4.3.3(8J2), but ever since I ran new kernel update, it does not see my iPhone when plugged in via USB port. The USB port works because it charges, however Ubuntu does not know its even docked.

I did various searches and found old posts, but was wondering if anyone else ran across this problem and has found a reliable solution.

Thanks,

d-1

If you look at your menu you will see a menu entry for your older kernel. Use it. See if it works there.

The kernel update may not be the problem. It may be something else.

I do not have an Iphone. I do have an Android and so does my wife. She uses Ubuntu 10.04 (which I assume you are using). No problem there. I use Debian with several installs.

Debian Squeeze (2.6.32 kernel), Debian testing (2.6.35) and Debian Sid (2.6.39) all work great with the Android.
