ubuntu 19.10 wayland blocking synaptic package manager

Can not ssh into my other computer to use synaptic package manager. ssh works but not synaptic package manager
Code:
lance@type40tardis:~$ ssh tardis
Authenticated to 192.168.1.1 ([192.168.1.1]:22).

lance@tardis:~$ sudo synaptic
[sudo] password for lance:
X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication.
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
Failed to initialize GTK.

Probably you're running Synaptic on Wayland with root permission.
Please restart your session without Wayland, or run Synaptic without root permission
how do I fix this?

your title is misleading. If I understand well you mistyped your password.
Anyway, it is not related to wayland, ubuntu and synaptic at all, but an authentication issue. Either sudo configuration, or X related.
You may need to run ssh with -X, probably that will solve this issue.

ok, so root has no access right to your X server. You can find a lot of different solutions on the net, for example:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1756...-app-with-sudo
https://blog.mobatek.net/post/how-to...er-su-or-sudo/
