I am befuddled. This Lexmark CS310dn has been and still is a trooper. When I'm writing a new book it reliably prints over 800 duplex pages at a pop. I can print to it from every machine on my network. This machine had KDE Neon on it until Neon got messed up so I installed Ubuntu 18.04 Mate for a change of pace. (Already several other machines running Neon)
I can print to it from another machine running Ubuntu 18.04 on this same network.
I "think" this has to do with the kludges in Mate upstream. The missing networking modules which won't let Caja find NAS. The reason I "think" this is every other machine finds 2 different instances of the printer on the network (I believe it presents one for PCL and the other for Postscript) Mate only finds one.
I did manually install the smbclient per
this post: It didn't fix the Caja bug but Nautilus can find the shares.
Anybody else run into printing oddities with Ubuntu Mate?
When I watch the setup it never manages to connect to the printer. To me that means there is something hosed in the low level networking but I might just be tired.
