Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit crashing on Macbook Pro 7.1

Hey guys, I'm having some weird problems with my computer. I have a Macbook Pro 7.1 with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit as the sole operating system. Basically what will happen is that I'll be using my computer with no problems and all of a sudden it'll freeze and then it'll display the nvidia logo (I guess it's restarting the driver) and then goes back to the login screen as if I just turned on my computer. Anybody know what the problem may be? and if so how to fix it? I remember reading somewhere that all Macbook Pro 7.1's did this if overloaded, but I'm not doing too much, maybe the OS is using too much resources on it's own for some reason?
