Did you verify that the download was good before attempting the install?
Can you mount the iso to see if a kernel file exists?
Did you get any warning/error messages during the install?

If you succeed with the install, the rest of us would appreciate it if you stayed off the internet with this outdate, insecure OS.

First, i can't verify because there is no really gpg file, and i see that the sha256sum (i may remember this wrong) was good
Second, there is a kernel in /casper
Third, i never got errors, also im downloading lubuntu 12.04 from an archive, ill see if it works
and also i can protect myself in the internet, i even used windows 7 after eol and never got a virus

No, you will be surprised - sooner or later.

Would be nice to explain what did you download exactly (from where), how did you try to install it? What's happened? Was there any error messages?
How do you know "there is no kernel and only an initrd file"?

i got it from https://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases also i booted from try ubuntu then ran the install, it didnt show errors at all, it continued, after that it ended and i rebooted to see that the "vmlinuz" file does not exist, i found it by browsing the file system, also even if i installed grub, it boots to memtest86

You could try switching from Ubuntu to AntiX. That includes a lot of old drivers that aren't used by other distros.

Sorry, i really can't, though it was better than debian buster its still kinda not good, the drivers are only available through kernel 3.1, with the "cdv-gfx-drivers-1.0.3_bee" patch (which is a blob), but as you can see if i would compile with antiX then i would have to use old libraries from wheezy debian, this gave me an idea to switch to debian wheezy, ahh cedarview is such a rabbit hole

You're asking for help but are providing close to zero details!

If you make people drag the information out step-by-step, they'll be reluctant to bother.

You're saying that at some point between the 2012 release of 12.04 LTS and the 2014 release of 14.04 LTS your GPU drivers were removed from the kernel?

I recently booted Debian 10 (released in 2019) and LMDE 4 (released in 2020) on an old machine, and neither of them had any problems with a GPU from 2006, so what hardware exactly is involved here?

A search for the "cdv-gfx-drivers-1.0.3_bee" you later mentioned suggests it's an Intel Atom from 2011, so it seems more likely that this patch needed to be applied to a kernel in 2012 (since Cedarview was new at the time), but that the drivers have most likely since been incorporated into the kernel and will just work.

(If you have a specific reason to demonstrate otherwise, then share it.)

What do you mean by "other distros" - do you already have Linux OSes booting on this machine? Or are you using a different machine?

Either way, what OS are you running "ubiquity -b" on, and what is the precise input and output?

(There is no "-b" option listed on the current Ubuntu ubiquity manpage.)

I have Mint 19.3, im installing ubuntu 12.04 in a test partition, and also NO!, these have been removed in kernels 4.15 and up (as the arch wiki says), also -b means no bootloader, and for some reason this happenes with jammy jellyfish, alright this needs explaining

You have Mint 19.3 running where? (Mint 19 is based on Ubuntu 18.04, so kernel will be 4.15 or later, and if that's supposed to not work...)

Again, you haven't confirmed the hardware in question. (Pretty sure inxi is available in Mint 19.3)

If the issue is 4.15 kernel, why are you not trying Ubuntu 16.04, which runs 4.4 kernel (and is still receiving security updates)?

What specifically does the Arch Wiki say? Provide the link!

You're still being way too sparing in providing information...

So i have a GMA 3600, here is the arch wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Intel_GMA_3600, 16.04 has no X.Org Drivers, However, if i were to load and install it fine, i can boot off of kernel 3.1.0 (old kernel compiled from source with that cdv patch), and also remember, that 16.04 ended support in april 2021 and is in esm, which costs money and is intended for buissnesses
