Ubuntu 11.10


How safe is ubuntu 11.10 from hackers, viruses, trojans, etc. etc ? Thanks for your answer !!! Rich.......

If you use Ubuntu, or pretty much any other Linux distro, you will never need any antivirus or anti-malware programs. You can simply relax and use your computer.
When I was running Windows I spent about half of my time online researching security vulnerabilities and updating my arsenal of anti-malware programs.
Since I have been using Linux I just get the updates as they come along and no longer worry about malware.

THanks for the insight. It was good to know whats out there and not to get too complacent with the system, even though it is more secured than other OS's.
