Ubuntu 10.10 freezes frequently with a black screen

Hi, I'm using Ubuntu 10.10. I'm experiencing frequent crashes to my distro for a while now.A black screen shows up out of nowhere and i have to press the power button to restart my system.
I can't even open up the virtual terminal when it is hung. That Ctrl+Alt+F1 to F7 combinations does not work.Nor does the Ctrl+Alt+Del.
Here is a few line from my /var/log/messages file after the reboot
Code:

My advice would be switch to mint. It's easy to use like u ubuntu, however people find It more stable. I've seen many problems with ubuntu, and believe it or not 11.04 is worse ! I would make the switch like everyone else did !

Good luck and stay safe.
