Trying to install Ubuntu 8.04 onto a eMac PowerPC

I've downloaded the PPC .iso file, and created a boot CD. The computer recognises the CD and boots from it.
When I get to the initial input screen, I type in live-powerpc, and enter.

The screen turns white, a few lines of text scroll by (unfortunately, too fast to read) then the screen goes black, and nothing else happens.

I can hear the CD turning for a little while, but it soon stops, and the computer idles.

Any ideas?

You certainly have enough RAM to run the disk.

I am puzzled by this:

I have an iMac G3 and just hold down the C-key to boot from the CD-Rom
