Trying to build up xubuntu from ubuntu mini, need help with indicator app

In xubuntu the indicator applet has four items it displays:
Application Indicators
Power Management
Sound Menu
Messaging Menu

I've installed the ubuntu meta package for xfce4 and suggested packages, so from what I can see, it should be displaying the same thing but all the indicator applet is displaying right now for me is "Application Indicators" and I can't figure out any way to add the other three things. The only thing on my panel right now is my networking indicator.

So can someone help me figure out what I'm missing?

Is there anything in the Xfce Goodies Project that will help you?

http://goodies.xfce.org/

Code:
sudo apt-get install xfce4-goodies

That added a few things I was missing for other things, not so much for the indicator applet. Turns out what I needed for that was was to add indicators individually:

Code:
apt-get install indicator-bluetooth indicator-messages indicator-sound indicator-power
There's a few things that were still buggy, though. For some reason bluetooth wasn't showing up after rebooting and adding the indicators. I had to disable bluetooth manually for awhile by putting the following in rc.local because I'm on a thinkpad:

Code:
echo disable > /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth
I removed that line and rebooted but the status in /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth persisted, so I just ran echo enable > /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth and everything is functioning as it should.

Now to figure out how to change the panel theme ...
