Question Troublesome Ubuntu 9.04 iso's...? Bad burns or corrupt installs.

Is anyone else having issues with the Ubuntu 9.04 iso images?

So far I have downloaded the desktop and alternative versions multiple times from different servers, using both HTTP and Bittorrent (Transmission)

I have tried to burn these different images with 4 different PCs, all of which have reliable burners that have never before produced a coaster. One PC, a Windoze machine, refuses the burn the images at all with Nero or other programs, and the other PCs (linux) all succeed in burning.

Those that succeed to burn the disc, all produce discs that will not pass checksum tests and either fail to boot Ubuntu correctly, or have issues with corrupted files when attempting install.

I can't figure out what's wrong... Transmission verifies the data correctly.

Any ideas? Anyone have a download location that worked 100% for them? I've used the bittorrent tracker linked on ubuntu.com and the UK servers for HTTP downloads.

9.04.. No... Are you burning to CDRW, CDR, DVDRW, etc?

Earlier I tried to Burn the Alpha release of 9.10, Gnomebaker and K3b, went through the whole process, both said the burn was good. When I'd restart, it would skip right past the CD, like nothing was on it. When I'd get back to Linux or Windows, it would see nothing on the disk, and it would show up as a blank CDR...

Question

I've been using CD-Rs that have been reliable with other burns, including 8.10 among others. Unfortunately, this little "upgrade" has nearly depleted my stack

I'm currently downloading a non-UK server hosted iso, and I've gotten a few other discs from a friend.. maybe one of the two options will solve it.

Strange... I've never had a persistent problem like this with an iso before. Same computer just burnt a disc for ClarkConnect that works just fine. I'm confused.

Okay, so I downloaded the same thing from a German server and everything burnt fine, passes checksum, and is installing as I write without a hitch...

Go figure -- the Germans even host better servers than the Brits haha...

Wonder what the heck is up with that?!
