Totem not working with Compiz enabled
When compiz is enabled Totem simply closes when starting a movie. I got VLC to work by changing the video output to X11, but I can't find a setting like that in Totem. What can I do here?

Actually, I'm glad you piped up. I just hit the same thing and was looking for my notes on this.
In my case: Acer Aspire 4315, Ubuntu Preinstalled, and intel 965.
Did you use the no Xv option or the i810 driver?

I have no idea why I never replied on this thread! Sorry!
Do you still need the answer for your question? If so how do I find the answer?

Um - yes. What was it that worked for you?
I've added a note to the workaround on hbclinux/acer.

I upgraded to Hardy in the meantime, but I think I had to change GStreamer Properties to "X Window System (No Xv)". Your link doesn't work by the way.
