Themes installation

I am trying to install a theme (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=38485) and I've unpacked the files. I looked up on google how to install it and I found that you can click and drag the folder into the themes window (System => Preferences => Themes), but when I do that it just says "invalid file format." I try to click "install theme," but it says the same thing. I also found someone saying that I have to unpack them in a .themes folder, where is that or do I have to make it? Can someone help me please?

Do not unpack the tar file. Just drag the unpacked file to the theme box under System>Preferences>Theme. It will then ask if you wish to install and it will
unpack the file for you.

I tried that and it still says "invalid file format." It is a .tar.bz2 file, should I convert it to something else? If so how?

I've seen those problems and in those cases you have to manually install the theme. Here's how:

1) unpack the theme into a directory (right-click on the file and select "extract here" if you're using Nautilus.
2) copy the directory containing the gtk-2.0 directory to /home/<your userid>/.themes/

Open the themes application and the theme should be listed
