The type & brand name of ROUTER I'm using!

Dear gentlemen,

I am using a Linksys WIreless-G Broadband Router that I have access to in Windows but not in UBUNTU as yet. I am in Windows wright now and hopefully I can get the wright drivers for my wireless PCI card and go from there. But I do need a little help since I am new to Linux.

Thank you,

JaDan

You should connect to the router with a standard RJ-45 patch cable from your Ubuntu box. Then, all you need to do is open a browser (i.e. Firefox) and browse to your Linksys router via IP address. It will be something like "http://192.168.1.1" (w/o quotes) for Linksys products. I had a Linksys WRT-54G and I was able to connect to it with Win2k, Ubuntu, and OS X by just browsing to the IP address. Then, you'll just use the default user name and password in the instructions. Of course, if you have changed the default IP address, user name, and password, then obviously you will use those credentials. I hope this is the answer to your problem.
