Question The Onion router

Hi all,

I have experimented with Tor as given in the tutorial here

http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-ins...h-firefox.html

but i am not at all satisfied. the FoxyProxy add on is more or less like a wizard.

my question is how to configure firefox manually so as to use tor anonymyzation???
( Any tested howto or tutorial will be greatly appreciated)

i tried this howto: http://wiki.noreply.org/noreply/TheO...r/FireFoxUsage
but isn't working

now after installing foxy proxy whenever i click edit-> preferences -> connection
settings tab i am not getting the Manual proxy configuration options instead i am getting foxy proxy options

I tried checking my Ip address at the sites given in the following url
http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en...a=lr%3Dlang_en

They all are giving the same ip before disabling and after disabling Foxyproxy option.
my question is how to check if anonymyzation is really working ???

Deinstall the extension first?

AFAIK the Ubuntu HOWTO doesn't mention that for HTTP(S) to work you need an intermediate proxy to access TOR like Privoxy (if you like/need filtering capabilities as well) or Polipo (if you don't).

https://torcheck.xenobite.eu/ or any IP reporting CGI "env.cgi" should do. * To be *really* sure you understand TOR, SOCKS, DNS, anonimity and "dirty tricks" I strongly suggest you read the TOR Wiki carefully.
