Testing ubuntu-6.06-server-i386

Hi folks,

Installed "ubuntu-6.06-server-i386" on a 32bit box. Partitioned with LVM. Everything went through w/o much problem.

On booting it hung repeating following message;
hub 1-0:1.0. connect-debounce failed_port 2 disable

Please advise what did it refer to and how to fix this problem. TIA

Ctrl+Alt+Del
It exited also hanging on repeating above message.

During installation there was a page "Tune CD-ROM driver parameter with hdparm". What shall I enter here? Tks

looks like usb stuffs ... can try playing around with all the bios settings for usb or dont plug in usb device during the installation or you might just as well turning off usb port for a server ...

>> "Tune CD-ROM driver parameter with hdparm"

i'm not sure whats the installation is expecting us to enter but as for cdrom(drivers??) you can adjust it dma and transfer modes etc etc with hdparm ... can have a look at the installation documentations , hdparm man page or do a search for hdparm for cdrom on the net ...

hope this helps a little bit ...

//btw ... is the installation of ubuntu-6.06-server-i386 totally different for "normal" ubuntu installation ??

Solved

Hi alred,

Tks for your advice.

The problem was solved by removing the USB mouse. The PC booted straight to login prompt.

Others noted with tks.
