Switching from Kde to Gnome questions.

I am currently using Kubuntu 8.1 and want to try out Ubuntu(gnome).

*All I have to do is go into synpatic and install gnome and nothing else?

*Would I have to reinstall my programs and copy/paste my folders from kde desktop to gnome?

*If I like gnome better than kde can I simple uninstall kde desktop and it will keep my program/folders? How much space will uninstalling kde free up?

Just install "ubuntu-desktop" and you'll have all you need. Both desktops applications can exist at the same time. You won't loose any data.
