startx error

when i putin startx at Ubuntu linux 5.04,display the following information:
Xauth:error while loading shared libraries:libXau.so.6:cannot open shared object files:No such file or directory.

then,i find a file libXau6 in the lib,but there is not libXau.so.6 .
what is the libXau.so.6 ,and how to find this file,how to install this file to make the startx work?

Hi,
You can try this :

ln -s /lib/libXau6 libXau.so.6
