stall up in kubuntu 6.10


when i start up kubuntu it load up eventually but i have only loaded it up 2 times i dual boot linux and windows xp

the first time i fell asleep the second time i only let it go for 20min and then just booted up windows but its stalling at

[17179571.708000] checking TSC Synchronization across 2 CPUs:

is there a way to make it load faster or will i have to start up my labtop like the day before i need linux?

What kind of computer do you have? And what kind of hardware is in it?
It is definitely not normal for it take that long. Linux, in my experience, usually loads faster than Windows does.
