Sound Problems with KDE

Hello, recently I switched from GNOME to KDE in Ubuntu and when I was using GNOME my sound was working fine (other than Teamspeak would monopolize the soundcard). When I switched to KDE however, the only time my sound will work is when I am using Teamspeak, and even when I use that I have to go into settings and reapply the drivers options. Anyone else have problems with sound in KDE or am I doomed to stick with Gnome?

Goto "Control Center==>Sound & Multimedia==>Sound System" and check if the sound system is enabled and which sound system you are using.

Also, check the hardware tab, maybe the hardware autodetect is not working properly. You may have to specify your sound device manually.

Make sure you have a sound system and aRts installed (you can check this using synaptic).

Make sure you have aRts configured to use whichever sound system you have installed (ALSA, OSS etc...)
