Sound Problem in Ubuntu 9.1
 

Hi all,
I have two PC with same hardware configuration and same operating system 9.10 .
From last week there is sound problem in One machine
the error is "Error while we go system/preferences/sound : waiting for sound system to respond"

Can I copy sound configuration file from another
machine on which all things are working fine and the hardware and O.s both are same .
is this working or not.

Any idea.

I have transplanted a number of files in Ubuntu testing (pre-release) and have never had a problem. I see no reason why you should with an old, stable OS.

You could just copy the files and edit the ones you have too. This might be interesting as you could do it a step at a time and find out more about what caused your failure and how the system works.
