You need to find out what sound chip set you have for that mobo, then reseearch from there. Good chance it does. If you try the Live CD, that might tell you. Welcome to Ubuntu.

Those other distros are getting fairly old now. Anything recent, SUSE 9.2 Live CD, the (K)ubuntu live CD, Knoppix etc... would give you a better chance of success. A look at linuxcd.org or others will let you know what is available live CD wise.
