Sony Handycam HC19E problems connecting to Ubuntu

Hi

Just bought the above camcorder, I guess i should have checked compatability. Anyway, how do I get Ubuntu Breezy to recognise it or where do i download drivers from? any ideas on what's the best software package to use for home video level stuff?

Thanks

Eric

Assuming it's a DV camera, to grab video, just plug it into your firewire port and it should be automagically recognized. I use dvgrab to capture video. Kino is a simple editor/capture program.
