SLAMR Modem Driver Compilation

I bought a new modem for my computer. The Scan Modem program told me the modem uses the slamr driver so I went to Synaptic and downloaded the slamr code and the compiler. After I ran the compiler it told me there was a problem and it couldn't finish. I have no idea what all that information meant so I'm asking for help on what my next step should be to get this driver installed. I've attached a copy of the log that was generated by the compiler.

Package sl-modem-source was not built successfully, see /var/cache/modass/sl-modem-source*buildlog* for details!
