Skype on Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
Title should have said Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS 64-bit
I am having some issues that I some how managed to fix but with an entire mess of unneccessary packages) and even some things I couldn't fix. This has been a complete mess with Ubuntu using the latest version of skype I've made sure I'm using the right version of skype built for the right version of ubuntu 12.04 (multiarch) and yet these huge amounts of major bugs appear. Heres a list and if anyone has any solution I would greatly appreciate your input or the input of someone else you've found had this issue and was able to fix it When using the skype on this Ubuntu computer if you call someone else they never recieve the call Sometimes if someone else calls this ubuntu skype it doesn't go through and even sometimes it'll hang up when I try to call him within 3 seconds and sometimes when i call a second time he will get it but it will say he's getting 2 calls When he picks up a call the window stays gray and the window freezes most if not everytime and possibly with delays if you do a normal voice call no video it crashes his client |
Hi::study:
Sorry your having so much trouble- I'm not a skype user, but try running skype from the command line (terminal window) and when it crashes, post back any information that displays in the terminal window. It would help to troubleshoot the problem. If I can look up the output that might be where the solution is. In the meantime try these things: Here is a Troubleshooting Guide with Ubuntu and Skype https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SkypeTroubleshooting In some cases the folks at Ubuntu had a few crashes as well. This might be a bug; fatalerror0x00 http://ubuntuforums.org/search.php?searchid=89177438 A man at Ubuntu running Xubuntu had the same issue as you with crashing try what the member advises. : Skype crashes on incoming call and other audio issues http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...t=ubuntu+skype Running Skype at startup Solved http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...crashes+solved Hope this helps |
