skype on karmic
 

I am using skype in karmic. Whenever I add someone in my contact list, that person gets a request for accepting or denying me. But if my friends add me, I don't get any such option. So I cannot add them.
Is it a problem with the skype beta for linux?

Who's maintaining the port? You need to either contact them Ubuntu or check the mailing lists. Skype had been buggy for me, so, I don't use it.

I have a logitech quickcam webcam...it's not working with skype...it works fine with cheese, pidgin(for google talk), gyachi.....but then why not with skype? It's detecting the camera but is not showing the camera view...
any solution to this problem?

Google around. Most likely its the LD_PRELOAD thingie. Also, try the static linked version - i found it that its the most stable.

If its something else, go to the skype forums and ask around.

The adding/removing contacts is working for me. Sometimes it does seem a bit strange, but it works.
