Share Linux printer with windows machine?

Hi everybody,

On my home pc I'm running ubuntu 9.04 and have a HPdeskjet 960c printer attached locally and printing from my ubuntu pc. I have a dell laptop that connects to the internet through a wireless router attached to my cable modem. The laptop no longer sees the printer since I've changed over to Ubuntu. (It worked perfectly when I was running Win XP Pro.) Obviously I'm missing some steps. The laptop is accessing the internet, no problem, but, does not see the HP printer. What do I need to do to print from the laptop?

I'm very new to linux, so please give me a step-by-step on how to accomplish this, or direct me to the information.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Instructions are here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=268245 take it from post #2.

The file cupsd.conf that you need to edit is located here on your system: /etc/cups

Start a terminal session and type:
Code:

sudo gedit /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
