Ubuntu startup fails, livecd & setup, goes into busy box
I'm trying to install Ubuntu on my dads computer, but fails.
When setup is on boot, it goes into Shell (ash) with the message:
------------------
BusyBox (ubuntuv1.10.2-1ubuntu6) built-in shell (ash)
Enter help for the list of commands
(initramfs):
------------------
By searching on the internet, many other users find the same error, but none has found a good solution..
The only thing on that computer is WinXP, but my dad wants to get rid of it and wants to start using ubuntu...
It's hopefully not a MS-RippOff?
--------------------------------------------
Even with my "solution" it's not working at all on my dad's pc..

I checked out your Motherboard - it seems to have no reported problems with linux.
My suggestions:
- Make sure your boot media is correct ( check the MD5SUM )
- Maybe try booting 8.04 (which has the advantage of Long Term Support (LTS)) - I have found it very satisfactory, and have as yet, no need for anything 9.04 offers.

Solution found!!! ^^
It's very simple but Strange
If people have the same problem by installation, do this:
- Choose language
- Press F6
- Replace 'quiet splash' with 'all_generic_ide' (without quotes)
PRESS ENTER!!!
This is also the thing to do, when you upgrade your system and can't get into it anymore...
Just change the GRUB line
Cheers, Erik
